THE FACTS

About Our Mirrors

Our Process

Once we’ve received your project details and provided you a quote, it’s time to get to work creating your mirrored masterpiece. Once your deposit has been paid, we will give you an approximate manufacturing timeframe for your mirror. Generally, we can create your mirror within 14 business days.

We’ll work with you to determine the best mirror finish for your project’s style and collect your professional measurements, CAD drawings or templates.

Once completed, freight can be organised to deliver your mirror to it’s destination, ready for installation.

Our Antique Mirror Finishes

Choosing the right mirror finish for your room can be likened to adding art to walls – transforming the room, creating the feel of additional space, and amplifying your room’s individuality through subtle tone, from all angles, without overstating it.

With seven hand-silvered antique mirror finishes to choose from, we can guide you to choose the perfect finish to reveal the essence of your design. Explore our finishes in our Inspiration Gallery, order samples so you can experience the mirror in your space, and reach out to us to discuss your project in more detail.

Our mirrors are all hand silvered and therefore some slight differences will appear but the overall style will still be retained. It’s also important to note that there will be variations depending on the size of your mirror/panel size.

Getting Your Measurements Right

As that saying goes, ‘Measure twice. Cut once.’ And this is no different with vintage style mirror glass. Therefore it’s imperative that we receive accurate measurements to ensure the finished product fits your space perfectly. We’ve put together this guide for measuring your space, however, we strongly suggest working with a professional glazier/tradesperson who can measure your space accurately.

You can also provide us with CAD drawings or an exact physical template cutout of MDF or Plywood. If supplying a template, we require a separate template for each panel of glass required. See more details in our FAQ’s section below.

Mirror Glass Options

We offer both toughened and untoughened glass panel options. Toughened glass is the industry standard for most commercial environments, due to it’s high impact resistance and heat resistance of up to 400°C, making it the perfect solution for splashbacks, behind heat sources, or where there are electrical powerpoints.

Toughened glass cannot be cut and therefore must be provided to your design specifications. Untoughened glass can be provided should you wish to have your glass cut onsite by a professional.

Size & Style Options

Our toughened antique mirror glass can be provided in panels up to 3200 x 1600mm and comes in 4mm, 6mm and 10mm thicknesses. Our untoughened mirror glass can be provided in panels up to 800 x 1200mm (for 4mm thick float glass) and 800 x 2400mm (for 6mm thick float glass).

We can create a variety of shapes and sizes, working from your technical drawings or templates provided, within these size guidelines, in either a single panel, multiple large panels or tiles.

Bevelled, straight-cut, polished or rough edging options are also available to choose from.

Delivery & Installation

Our mirrors are available to be shipped Australia-wide. We have regular weekly delivery runs from Brisbane to Sydney and can deliver to addresses along this route. If your location is not on this route, we will use a courier service to deliver your mirror. Your mirror is fully insured for the delivery process and packed safely, according to each delivery services requirements.

Customers wishing to ship internationally, may choose to do so, if transport and insurance is organised wholly by them.

We do not install mirrors, and suggest working with a professional to install your mirror safely and successfully.

GOT QUESTIONS?

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our lead times are dependent on the size, quantities and complexity of the mirror/s you have selected.

Most of our custom-made mirrors can be manufactured in 14 business days plus freight time. Some mirror designs, including our Bronze finish mirror glass, complex shapes and slumped glass may take longer.

On receipt of your order we will provide you with a projected delivery date. If you have a deadline to meet please let us know and we will do our best to meet it.

  • Upon request we can send you our trade price list, however to obtain an accurate quote we require the following information:
→ What finish you would like ie. Parisian, Chatsworth etc.

→ The quantity & sizes of the individual panels required in millimetres

→ Whether the mirrors require toughening

→ Whether you need any cutouts for Powerpoints, holes for wall lights or fixing

or you can Request A Quote here

  • Toughened Mirrors:

    Maximum Toughened Mirror Sizes

We have the capacity to produce large panels in all of our hand silvered antique finishes, if they are toughened.

The overall possible size however will depend on the width to height ratio.

For example we can produce a maximum size of: 3200 x 1600mm

Please note: toughened Mirrors cannot be cut.

    Un-toughened Mirrors

If you require panels in float (un-toughened) mirror because you want to be able to cut it on site, the maximum sizes we can produce are:

    800 x 1200mm in 4mm thick float glass

    800 x 2400mm in 6mm thick float glass

If you have a specific size in mind, send us an email to enquire.

  • Allowing for tolerance

    Standard Tolerance Orders
For single panels of Mirror such as splash backs or multiple larger size panel orders our tolerance is +2/-2mm, meaning that a 1000mm dimension can actually be anywhere from between 998mm and 1002mm and still be acceptable by industry standards.

For multiple smaller panel orders we work to a +1/-1mm tolerance unless you informed us when you placed your order that the measurements are ‘size critical’.

    Size Critical Orders
Where ‘size critical’ has been specified - these measurements will still hold a size of +0.5/-0.5mm. This can generally only be achieved with CNC to each panel on all sides for straight edge panels. There will be an additional charge of $250 per panel and a longer lead-time to produce to this level of accuracy. This may not be possible where bevelled edges or shapes are requested.

    Bow Tolerances
It is not possible to produce toughened Mirror as flat as annealed (float) glass due to the nature of the toughening process. The deviation, or bow, may vary with size and shape of the glass.

  • Yes. We require the measurements of your panels to the nearest millimetre. You can email us a sketch showing dimensions in mm and cutout locations to the centre of the hole/powerpoint or raked edges. (Raked edges - are straight edges on a panel where one or more corners is not a 90 degree right angle).

If you are able to provide a CAD drawing for production this would always be our preference. Please email us with both DXF and a PDF copy of your file.

    Templates
Templates should be supplied in either MDF or Plywood to ensure they can be scanned successfully and replicated accurately. We cannot accept templates in any other material.

Templates must be exact to size with no addition or subtraction requirements.

    Multiple Panels
We require one template per panel of mirror. We cannot accept a single large template, if you require this to be split into multiple panels, as the template would have to be cut and you would lose the width of the saw blade with each cut, creating 5mm gaps between panels.

    Cutouts
You can either physically cut out the holes in the templates or mark the centre point of standard socket cutouts on the templates.

    Edges
Templates should be provided with straight edges, unless there is a definite shape requirement.

    Internal Cutouts
There will always be a radius corner on any internal cutouts of at least the thickness of the glass. The internal cutouts will have a ground edge rather than a highly polished edge.

    Order Information & Packaging
Please ensure that you mark the template with your NAME & which side is the FACE, and pack it carefully to avoid any damage to the edges or corners in transit.

    Send it to:

  • No, we are manufacturers and do not offer an installation service.

Most installs are carried out by attaching unframed mirror panels to a clean, dry, primed substrate rather than using mechanical fixings. Although for overhead installs we would always recommend the addition of mechanical fixings too.

    Download our Installation Guidelines here

  • Yes. However please note there will be more overall variation on finished panels than on a small sample piece.

Samples should be viewed in conjunction with images on our website.

  • Yes. Many designers, architects and contractors are surprised that we are able to offer toughened antique mirror glass.

Our process starts with clear or tinted transparent glass. Cut to size, edges polished or bevelled and toughened, where required or specified. We then hand silver the toughened glass to create toughened antiqued mirrors.

You cannot toughen a new standard mirror. We can hand silver panels with a 'Clean Silver' finish to create a toughened mirror without distressing, although there may be some small blemishes or shading due to the hand finished nature of the silvering process.

Where mirror panels or tiles are being used behind a heat source such as a stovetop or where there are powerpoint cutouts required, we feel that it's imperative that toughened glass is used to prevent cracks occurring during or after installation.

In commercial environments toughened mirror glass is often the only acceptable material.

    The benefits of toughened mirror:

High Impact Resistance (At least four times stronger than annealed glass) Although the edges and corners of the glass remain vulnerable, take care not to knock during installation.

Heat Resistant up to 400 degrees Celsius

In commercial environments such as bars/restaurants or in high traffic public areas, toughened mirror glass is often the only acceptable material.

    Complies with AustralianStandards AS/NZS 1288 and 2208

    Distortion
Some distortion can occur in toughened glass due to the directional nature of the process. This is in the form of distortion bands (roller waves) 250 - 300mm apart, perpendicular to either the long or short axis of the glass. When one dimension exceeds 1300mm, however, the bands will always be perpendicular to the long axis.
